Modern Litho does not have a mandatory overtime policy, but we are contemplating creating one. Does anyone have a policy they are willing to share?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi All -

Here is a suggestion for a policy:

Hourly employees are scheduled for [XX] hours each week. From time to time, team members are expected to work overtime to complete projects that are on a tight deadline, to cover unforeseen absences by team members, and when the workload is high. Working overtime when needed is a condition of employment. Up to 40 hours of work during a week, team members are paid their regular rate. Any time worked after 40 hours in a week will be paid at 1.5x the regular rate.

When overtime is required, team members will be excused from it only with prior authorization. Unexcused absence from a required overtime shift is subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
