We have a member that is searching for an alternative cleaning solvent to what they are currently using to clean their conductive screen printing inks. The solvent they are currently using is a blend of very volatile solvents – toluene, acetone, and methyl isobutyl ketone. This blend of solvents makes the wastes they are generating and the wipes a hazardous waste. In addition, it is a very flammable material.
They want to replace it with a material that is not hazardous with a flashpoint above 140oF. They have tried a couple of replacements, but so far, they have not been able to remove the inks from the screens.
If you are using conductive inks, can you please share the name of the solvent you are using? Thanks,Gary Jones
